Practicing Medicine with a Heart to Serve

Meet Irina M. Popa

Nurse Practitioner

Hello & Welcome!

I’m Irina, a board-certified autonomous family nurse practitioner, and the founder of MissionMed Wellness. With over twenty years of healthcare experience in the US and abroad, I bring a wealth of expertise and compassion to my practice. Graduating with honors from the Master’s in Nursing Practice program at South University of Florida in 2016, I am deeply passionate about empowering individuals to attain optimal health and create meaningful changes in their lives, mentally, physically and spiritually.

Originally from Romania, my lifelong dedication to the medical field stems from a deep-seated desire to positively impact lives by alleviating suffering and promoting wellness. For nearly a decade, I’ve provided personalized Medicare managed care and HMO primary care, focusing on health promotion, mental health, women’s health, and managing chronic and acute illnesses.

Prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner, I gained extensive experience as an RN across various hospital units, including trauma, oncology, ER, ICU, telemedicine, medical-surgical, orthopedics, behavioral health, and PACU. Frustrated by insurance constraints, limited appointment availability, and excessive charting requirements, I decided to establish my own practice. Here, I prioritize unhindered patient care, ensuring each individual receives the attention they deserve while also enhancing my work-life balance.

As a Christian, while I firmly believe in the potential of medicine and medical technology, I also acknowledge and embrace God’s transformative influence in people’s lives. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve as a vessel through which God’s compassion and healing touch can reach those in need.

I support others through diverse experiences: leading healing-focused groups at church, engaging in continuous training and education within and beyond the medical field, and providing ongoing guidance and medication management for my patients, especially during the pandemic.

Outside of work, I find enjoyment in traveling, reading, spending time with loved ones, volunteering, and participating in mission trips around the world.

I look forward to the opportunity to support you on your journey towards a healthier, happier life.

Warm regards,

Irina Popa, Autonomous FNP-BC

What is an autonomous nurse practitioner?

In 2020, the Florida Legislature authorized Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) who meet specific education and clinical practice hours criteria to become independent practitioners without the need for physician oversight.
